Check the manual. There will be key combination that will do the same job. Often Function key + something else.

MissToshibaFail, another solution is to get the Free FastStone Capture 5.3 application. You can save everything you mark on the screen as JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, TIFF, TGA and even PDF. Click the URL at the bottom, read the many features and at the bottom of that page are two versions to download. One is a portable version. Both are free. I putted a shortcut into my Quick Launch Bar and any time I see on the screen something worth to keep I click the shortcut, mark the area I want to save, choosing JPG, BMP etc. I have set the destination to my folder "screenshots" on my desktop and from there I move the captured images to other locations if I want to. It is the best capture program I ever came across. It has also a scroll feature so that you can capture images or files that fill more than just one screen. And much more Features.

It would help to know the model/model number of your laptop. No 3rd party app should be required, you just need to know which key (or keys) to press.

Windows 7 has a built in capture tool called the snipping tool. Click Start / Accessories / Snipping Tool.

Press and hold control key and then press Print Screen button. Then paste in some media program like paint or a work processor that handle images.

The print screen ought to be there but the OSK will do also. On Screen Keyboard is found by typing OSK in the blank above start button.

Also microsoft offers a replacement for that. Of course the dummies there renamed it to expression media encoder or something like that. The free version can capture up to I think 10 seconds of live screen activity or just screen shots.
