Solved How do i repair lnk files back to exe

Specs: Windows 7
what do i do???? im really tired of having to move folders around to find stuff what do i do i fix all the exe files on my desktop and how did they turn into lnk files in the first place?

Fr3d, Try the LNK and EXE File Association Fixes at the link below. I'd try the LNK fix first.

heya...hello there ..i am also having the same problem of lnk files.....but unfortunately the method which worked for fr3d is not working on my system...i am tierd of downloading the reg.files but it says it cant help....please do somethng for my poor system.....it really needs help...looking forward for experts suggestions thanks....

samm_albalushi, Explain exactly what problem you are having. Are you using Windows 7 as those fixes at the link I posted in Response Number 1 are for Windows 7. There are other fixes available for XP and Vista.

I've got the same problem here, mr. Tufenuf, and I've already tried your suggestions but something's not letting them run as they should.

something from the registry editor says, "Cannot import C:\\\lnk_fix...... Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes."

what should I do?

I have a Aspire one D260 and I am having a problem with a music file which seem to have converted itself to a .lnk file. How do I correct this?

Also in trying to ask the music file to play with Windows Media Player (WMP) all my icons changes to WPM icon with .lnk. How do I fix this?
