How do I remove/bypass laptop BIOS password

October 11, 2010 at 13:48:32
Specs: Windows 7, AMD/2GB
I have a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5043. The Bios password was set & I have NO IDEA AT ALL what it was set to. Thank you to my 5 to nephew for this...

What are the options?...

1. Is there a "Master Password" for this model?
2. Reset dip switches to clear/reset bios? (where located and to what positions)
3. Remove CMOS battery for ~ 30 min?
4. Install new Flash Bios?
5. Return to manufacturer?

What is correct procedure for this model?

Contact the manufacturer. Be prepared to prove you are the original owner.

TOSHIBA Hardware Setup
TOSHIBA Hardware Setup is the TOSHIBA configuration
management tool available through the Windows® operating
system. To access it:
❖ Click Start, All Programs, TOSHIBA, Utilities, and then
HWSetup, or click the TOSHIBA Hardware Settings icon in
the Optimize tab of TOSHIBA Assist.
The TOSHIBA HWSetup screen appears.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
