How can I restore factory settings on my hp?

Specs: Windows 7
How do I restore the factory settings on my HP laptop, I do not have a recovery disc and I tried safe mode to get in but it freezes up after that. Any help? Please!!!! Thank you

Why don't you have recovery disks? Did you buy the laptop new? If so, you were instructed on how to make the restore set the first time you turned on the laptop.

check your manual for the f number to access the hidden partition. HP is good about letting people do a non-destructive or a destructive restore. You can google that as we don't know the make and model number of the laptop

HP tends to let you both make disks and provide a way to boot up to a recovery system.

I think it is F10 on HP's but you should make the disks as shown in the owners manual.

Some very low models may not have either and you may have to buy the disks for like $20.
