the screen is not appearing normal.half of it is normal screen and the other half is shaded and has running lines on it.
LCD monitor or CRT? Half vertically or half horizontally? The former sounds like a problem with your video RAM or an incorrect driver, the latter as if you have configured a video refresh mode and/or resolution that your monitor can't handle.
