Dear vikashp91, I resolved this error by accessing my Firewall Settings. BT Broadband is my server, so from my list of Programmes I clicked on BT NetProtect Plus (comes under 'McAfee' in my list of programmes). On the menu which comes up, click on 'Firewall' and then 'Settings' to the right of inset box. Click on 'Programme Permissions' and highlight 'Google Chrome' which is probably marked 'Block' in the access column. Click on Edit and then 'Full' to unblock. Hope this is of help, or info. transferable to any other protection programme you may be using if not Net ProtectPlus/Firewall. MACINALLY

I had this problem and it was not the firewall. Download Google Chrome (BETA) version and it will work again. I have Windows 7 and that was the only thong that work instantly got me back to accessing internet through google chrome.
