Installed 7 yesterday. Opened up command prompt and typed edit.com. Sure enough, it worked. Why has M$ continued to include this text editor in their OS's? Especially with a slew of better and more advanced editors available. It was kind of nice seeing that it is still there--nostalgia, but seriously, why? I mean I guess it is nice for troubleshooting purposes, but I dunno why it is still around. As you can probably tell, I am very bored right now, lol.

Razor-
I think I figured it out. You are running a 64-bit version of 7. Mine is 32-bit. I imaging the support for 16-bit apps is extremely limited on a 64 bit os.

Yes, but why would I run a VM to use edit.com?

Especially when edit.exe was way more awesome?

Like I said, this is just for fun lol. It is completely unfeasable to use vm to run edit. I was just being argumentative. Boredom is really setting in.

Jefro- Yes, debug is intact. I never use it really. I use TASM for my assembly.
