I tried to switch to a wireless adapter listed in the device manager from the Windows default system. Now I can't connect to any network. When I try to repair, Windows says it cannot repair because the wireless portion is being controlled by another program. Now I cannot get back to the original configuration which I know will work.
try a system restore to a point before the issue started. if that fails go to msconfig and stop the 3rd party wifi controller from starting, open services and make sure that WLAN auto config is set to auto.
wow! that was a quick reply. Because I changed the wireless controller on my Sister-in-law's laptop and she is no longer here, I am trying to help her remotely. Thanks for the input. I'll try both if needed and let you know the outcome. Thanks again!
