I loaded IE9,and after that all my sites on my favorites button dissapeard. My favorites button works fine if I want to add new ones, but my old ones are gone.I've tried everything.I also uninstalled IE9
I don't know of a way to get your favorites unless you have AOL.
In the future Export your Favorite to your Document ever so often
and that will allow you to Import them from your documents back
to your Browser. IE 8 or IE 9 or Firefox.
Firefox you go to Bookmarks - Organize Bookmarks - Import and Backup - follow directions.
IE 8
They will be listed as Bookmarks in your Documents.
File - Import and Export - Export to a File - Next - Click Favorites -
Next - Click Bookmarks - Click Export - Finish directions and click finish.
I don't know whether the browser you were previously using makes
backups of your favorites. Foxfire does. You might find backups
saved somewhere. Or you may have exported your bookmarks at
sometime in the past, and forgot that you did so. They could be
in a .htm or .html file. Possibly bookmarks.html or favorites.htm.
(Foxfire's backups have a .json filename extension, but they are
just text files. The .htm files are just text files, too.)
Chances are, though, your old favorites got wiped out when you
installed the new browser.

Jeff, I'm going try what you said I really appreciate the info. Thanks Jim
Were my Favorites IE 8 are listed on my HP computer.
Right click the Start Button - Click - Open Windows Explorer - Using the left column. On the list below Desktop - Below user name you should see Favorites.
Click that and all of your Favorites will show to the right.
I can't say if these Favorites would be removed if I installed IE 9
If any are clicked they start to open on the Internet.
