can I install word 2002 on Windows 7?

Specs: win 7

I tried to install word 2002 on my new comp with win 7 from install microsoft works disk from old comp , win I try to open it , it says it's locked help

did you try running it as an administrator or running it in compatability mode?

I noticed your indicated that "....disk from old comp..." That would indicate that you use or at one time used this software on another computer. Microsoft frowns on that and IF you actually get it installed, they can give you a very hard time.
Here is a better option:
Download and install openoffice.org for FREE. It is a full office suite that you can install fully or only the parts you want. It can open MS Office files and save in native formats or MS Office formats (and others). AND its LEGAL. And I can truely recommend it as a quality product.

I disagree with that. If the program and key came with an old PC, you OWN that version, and I really can't see M$ raising cane about version 2002.

Also, open office isn't too good at all IMO, I tried it awhile back.

I don't know if I installed it in administrative or compatibility mode ,does it make a difference? which one should I use? thanks p.s. I did buy this when I bought my old computer p.s.s. I need word for school ,teacher will not accept anything else

maybe you put in the wrong key.
Download SIW on your old PC:
http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download...
Thn click on the applications and scroll down to office and see if it is the same product key you are putting in when trying to install.

Try installing it in both modes you mentioned. One should work for you.
