My problem is when I try to boot making the
HDD the primary booting device I get
corruption problems. So I need to keep my
installation DVD in the rom at all times,
actually for some reason I can't even get the
disk to eject from it and I've tried a paper clip. This quote seems to sum up what I think is the root of the problem here but I need help
configuring this"When you let Windows 7 create the partition,
it will actually create 2 partitions; the first is
only 100 MB and contains the boot files, and
is identified as System Reserved, and shows
(System, Active, Primary Partition)
The second would become the C: drive and
shows (Boot, Crash Dump, Page File, Primary
Partition)"In my case I have 2 HDDs; 1 SATA, 1 IDE and
3 partitions, the 3rd being the 100MB one.I see my D: Drive is set to system and not my
100MB active primary partition, how would I
change this? Also my D: Drive is set as Active but my C:
with Windows 7 on it isn't?

Temporarily unplug the drive you do not want the O/S on, also unplug any other USB devices like readers..........

"My problem is when I try to boot making the
HDD the primary booting device I get
corruption problems."I think you need to find the reason for that before you go any farther.
As for the C and D how are you saying that? In reference to a dual boot or what. As far as I know it would be unlikely that system is D. MS has this thing about calling C the system drive no matter what order it is in machine order.
Don't play with the 100 partition at all. (well, there are ways to delete it but see articles and I think you have to reload)

Alright so I got it to boot w/o the DVD in the drive
I had to set the HDD to IDEI still can't get it to open or close the DVD Rom though
I only have 1 OS on my C: Drive
Checked my Disk Management
D: is no longer labeled with System, It is under System
Reserved.. Still no System or Active for my C: thoughI tested the DVD Rom in my old desktop and it works fine in that system.
