I have a serious problem with Windows 7. I run it on an IBM Thinkpad T60p. It worked perfectly until a few days ago. When I start it I get the Thinkpad screen followed by 'n black screen and the cursor in the top left corner. This is where it stops, so Win 7 is not loaded. I ran Memtest V3.5 twice with no errors. I also ran a disk test (ESTOOL) no errors. If I use the windows 7 install disk to do a repai, I restore to a previous checkpoint only to get a black screen again. I have tried all check points and none work.
Please help as I do not want to loose my data.

Basically the DVD is a real windows install running from the DVD. If it runs to the point where you can do anything then I'd suspect the computer to be OK.

Might be that there is something wrong with the boot sequence either in bios or from bcd or internal to the OS.
