BIOS ROM checksum error

When I boot up my PC it gets stuck in DOS and shows the following:

Award BootBlock BIOS v1.0
Copyright (c) 2000, Award software, Inc.

BIOS ROM ckecksum error

Detecting floppy drive A media...
INSERT DISK AND PRESS ENTER

From there is just freezes up in DOS. There is nothing in the A drive and I can't get to windows.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

If the following error message is displayed when booting up your PC. 

BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR-SYSTEM HALTED

This means that the information found on the BIOS are invalid or cannot be accessed.

Proposed solutions:

Flashing the BIOS

Replacing the battery of your motherboard (CMOS battery)

Contact the manufacturer if problem persist.

Sabertooth,

It started a while ago and just happened sporadically. It started to become more frequent over the last couple months Usually all I had to do was reboot a few times and eventually Windows would eventually start up. But lately it does not get out of DOS.
