I've recently obtained a Zenith Z-Player audio system, but I can't seem to locate Windows 3.1 drivers for it. And before you ask, yes, I do know that there is such a thing.

Check what sound chip is on card you may be able to get a generic driver:
http://www.gweep.net/~sfoskett/hardware/audiodrive.htmlhttp://www.esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm#isa

Hmm, that first site says the 688 model is used in the Z-Player. Might be useful, but it would probably only get the card itself working, and maybe not even that. Has anyone found anything else? Anyone actually have a Z-Player?

Zenith only list a Windows 95 Driver@

With a product date of 1997 16bit Win3x drivers may never have been providded!
Item Number: ZDSFIUP00430100

That's odd... the below site mentions drivers for Windows 3.1, and provided by the ZDS site itself, no less! The only reason I ask here is because that is now a dead link.

P.S. This product is older than you think... the Windows 95 drivers came out a while after the Player went to the shelves, and in fact it was discontinued in that same year (1997). Originally, the system came with the Win3.1x drivers included.

Zenith seem to have dropped ALL Win3x support!
This does not surprise me! Many Manufactures dropped Windows 3.1 Drivers from web sites in the mid 90's as 'obsolete' when you would think that since the development work had already been done there would be little or no effort to maintain support!
Have you tried e-mailing Alan Huffman (Click his name at bottom of Al's Place site) he may still have a copy to mail you.

I did email him at about the same time I posted this message, I'm still waiting for a response. Though I might be upgrading to Windows 95 soon anyway, I just need to find someone with the original install disks (the floppy disk version is quite rare and is always bid up to high prices when one appears on eBay). I could also get a CD version and just copy all the files onto the hard disk via floppies, but I don't know if that will work.
