Ok, My friend has this ancient Zenith z-ls/20 She wanted to upgrade from w3.11 to w95. So I gave her the complete w95 install on floppies. I dont know what she did, but its gone pair-shaped. Whenever the machine is switched on it doesn't boot and this error message appears - "+++Error : Drive not ready+++" Can anybody help? Thanks.

how large was the harddrive capacity?? i suspect the old drive was big enough to handle win95. most of the old computers had a 20 meg drive. win95 uses 70 meg + good luck

Hi Gabriel: These are things you might try, does the floppy drive boot if you put in DOS install disk #1, if not then could be a bad floppy drive, bad connection, or bios is set wrong. If floppy drive works & it tries to boot hard drive you might have bad boot sectors on hard drive (if you didn't run scandisk or other hard disk checker, you might have bad sectors where the data can't be read). Make sure the floppy drive is not an older 740k drive, because it can't read 1.44m disks. Most important is if the hard drive is not large enough to install OS & programs, all this work is for nothing, I would make sure that there's enough RAM also.
Good luck. Z

Thanks people. I am also thinking that the hard drive is too small. I'll try using the dos install disk#1. The floppy drive definately works ok though. Looks like I may have to reinstall 3.11. Oh well. Thanks again.

Would you like to sell a copy of w95 on floppies. The school I work at are using 486 and early donated pentium 60's without cd drives. We use win3.1 and would like to upgrade.
