hi, i think there are applications that search ini files and can delete any lines that nolonger apply do a google search for it, hope u find what your looking for, i had a problem with my win.ini file it turns out some old line refering to a program that was deleted caused another program to not function right so its a good idea to clean your ini files once in while expecally if you add and remove program alot, good luck

There was some versions of "Cleansweep" for Windows 3.1, that among other things removed un-needed entries from the win.ini file. You may be able to find one of these versions on the Internet, somewhere.

Those files offered in the above link (or similar files) were included in the Win 3.0 installation...I don't understand know why Micro$oft excluded them from the Win 3.1 installation..?
