Got a gift today!
found a 486/66 compaq portable w/screen on the side of the road. plugged in fired right up dos prompt. BUT win which is in autoexec no go and I tried to execute from windows dir is not there. File not found. where did it go? windows 3.1 will not open.. dos 6.1 How do I open windows

Are you saying the Windows directory is not there

or

are you saying that the directory is there and win.exe is not?
