Hello to all,
I have a major problem running windows 3.11 for workgroups. Windows boots, the prog manager comes up and all the icons are present. However, when I attempt to run anything, windows goes to dos. I have tried several times to get anything to run, but its impossible, it just defaults back to dos. I am not connected to a network, and its installed on an older laptop. The config is: IBM PS/2 L40 SX 386 33MHz 60 MB HD 1978 RAM
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

here's a suggestion: check to make sure the 32-bit disk access and 32-bit file access options, under "386 enhanced virtual memory", are turned off. they don't work well with the older harddrives.
