Hi,

I read on several internet pages that there would be a Windows Media Player version 6.4 that works with Windows 3.x. Unfortunately Microsoft stopped all downloads for Windows 3.x.

Does anyone know this version of the Windows Media Player for Windows 3.x somewhere on the internet?

Thank you for your help!

Windows 3.11 LIVES!!! Running in 800x600 in 16,777,216 colors!!

There is only one stupid question, the question that is not asked.

You can download the 16-bit version 5.2 beta (mpsetup.exe – 5.42MB) for Windows 3.x. This version is similar to the 32-bit version 6.4 for Windows 95 and was the last version produced:

carefull before you install that media player, i tried it out on my 3.1 and it crashed, its a good idea to back up your system.ini and win.ini files before you install it.

In fact, it's a *real* good idea..its codecs are not compatible with a lot of systems, and it's prone to causing GDI crashes at startup.
Plus, unfortunately, it cant play anything but 5 year old Asf and Asx files (try finding those suckers!).
Looks real nice tho......

Dominicus is right though, not much use for that prog nowadays. You'd do better downloading QuickView Pro 2.53 from my site. That Dos movie viewer is amazing!
