I recently found an old parallel cable that I can use to transfer files from my main computer to my 486 laptop. But can you transfer files via parallel from Windows 98SE or 95 to Windows 3.11 for Workgroups?

as long as you have a program in both that are the same to put them on you can. that way you can read them once they get there.

You can use the terminal programs in each to transfer data. Be carefull though the win9x long filename attributes will not be kept on the wfw box. If you keep filenames to the dos 8.3 format you'll be fine.

Try downloading Laplink 5 from lightspeed's refernce page and installing it on both pc's. It's a dos program, but should work. I've used it to connect using a windows 95 and windows me pc before. A dos window should pop up and it will automatically detect the connection.
