Hello, I have delphi and visual basic for win3.x, but I can't do so much with this... so I want to know another programming tools... like C/C++ programming tools, I don't care if it's difficult, I just want to do something good with windows 3.x like a simple version of firefox, I know it's difficult, but I think it's possible, and a MSN client, and maybe a MP3 player with playlist...
well, that's all.. thank you all...

You could use Borland C++ 5.0/5.01, Symantec C++ 7.21 or (Open)Watcom c/c++.
You can read about those compilers here: http://www.tarma.com/index.htm#/art...OpenWatcom is free and open source, you can download it here: http://www.openwatcom.org/index.php...
(It doesn't have a win31 distribution, but you can download win32 installer and unzip it using pkunzip)

will the programs written in OpenWatcom work with win32s? because just a little amount of programs works with it =/
Nemesis_Knoxville

Open Watcom can generate native Win16 programs, both 16-bit and 32-bit (using an extender: as far as I know, there is no need for Win32s to run them).
Also, if you want, you can generate Win32 programs and, if you are careful enough to avoid unsupported APIs, they might run in Win32s (I just do not remember if the compiler generates .relloc tables by default)

I'm a windows 3.1 user and programer
working in and on windows 3.1 stuff is
what I'm doing right nowthere is already a windows 3.1 mp3
player that can read play lists
and I've heard that
mozilla already works in windows 3.1
with win32s and some dll's from windows NTnot sure about msn....
possibly possible...
difficult?yea sounds like fun
after all no difficulty in any thing that is possible right?there are several tcp components for delphi and vb have you seen any of them?

nemesis_knoxville@yahoo.com.brI wanna do some things for windows 3.1, like a MSN client and make mozilla run there, I think it's very difficult but I think that is possible!

anyone know where I can download Borland C++ 5.0/5.01 and Microsoft Visual C++ 4.1?
tnx
Nemesis_Knoxville

if I'm not mistaken
both of those programs require windows 95 so your really asking in the wrong placehere is some info on the compilers
http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/borcv...
http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/mscpp...I did not really even notice before but....
I have MSVC++ ver 1.52 and 5

cool guess I should learn c++tested your yahoo email
let me know if you got my email

http://www.tarma.com/index.htm#/art...
this link shows some screenshots of some c++ compilers, i don't know if they are for windows 95, but the screenshots shows the GUI of windows 3.1...
I didn't receive your e-mail, can you try again? nemesis_knoxville@yahoo.com.br...
Can you send me the last version of VC++ that can compile 16 bits applications?
