Hi all. One day i was thinkin about the days i used windows 3.11, it started when i was a kid back in 1994 until 2001 when msn messenger was coming up and icq didnt do it anymore for al my friends. And i upgraded my pc (celeron@266Mhz) to windows98se (i loved windows 3.11 but it wasnt capable to run msn messenger) and i connected to the fast internet with a lan connection. In the end of 2002 i bought a brand new P4 2400Mhz with 768mb with windows xp. About a month ago i discovered MSN webmessenger, it needs: Internet Explorer 5.0 running in Microsoft Windows! And i still had my old celeron266 standing in the basement collecting dust. I formatted the hard disk and installed ms-dos 6.22 and wfw 3.11 i also installed ip/tcp and internet explorer 5.0 in the hope i could acces msn webmessenger. But without succes :-( Altough i have "internet explorer 5.0 running in microsoft windows" There goes my chance :-( I think MS-DOS and the windows3.11 shell is one of the best most powerfull and stable OS ever made. But msn messenger seems to hate it.... Its to bad the pc is very fast, internet works exellent and i have office 4.3 Im able to play mp3's and view video files. All at incredible speed. Startup time is only a few seconds, far more suprior to my xp machine... Only web messenger s*cks. My question is: Does anyone knows a way to acces msn messenger service with windows 3.11 ?????????? (Sorry for bad english) im dutch
No! The oldest version is 1.0 and it is for windows95 and NT 4.0 The web messenger says: internet explorer 5.0 running in microsoft windows... And i have internet explorer 5.0 running in microsoft windows....
