Hi, I have an application that is currently running under windows 3.11. The problem is that it is very difficult to run 3.11 over new PCs. So I need a software that emulates win 3.11 over win 95 or 98. Would anyone know such a software ?

There's no need for that at all. Windows 98 is backwards compatible with Windows 3.1 programs so they will work perfectly fine.

You might find that old software runs too fast on a modern machine - apparently because it takes its speed from the limitations of the processor rather than controlling it internally. So, if this is the problem, you would need to slow your CPU down with a programme. There are several that do this, most at a price. Try doing a search. CPU killer works quite well, but you have to restart it every 5 minutes unless you buy a registered version.

That really only affects games I think, usually old DOS games. I don't think Win3.1 programs would be affected.

Yes, a problem with 3x programs is extremely rare. You may get a memory leak that requires you to reboot after a very long session with some 3x software and forget about desktop aquarium; the fishes go into warp drive with P-II or higher processors. Looks neat, anyways.

Hi,
I have a requirement to run a Win 3.1 application on NT4. At present it gives an error trying to located a default printer. Can 3.1 apps run clean under NT, or is there any emulation software that will enable 3.1 apps to run.
