My sound card is ad1881.
I installed the sound driver for windows 3.1.
I can play mp3 file using wplay.
But I can't play any wav file.
Whey I open a wav file in the windows player.
I got the message" No wave device"
but

in my system.ini

wave=c:\adisound\win_drv\ichw31.drv

why?

Simply the Best

Hi there!

Did you install Video for Windows? This package comes with MSACM 2.0, which messes up quite a lot.
Look if you have an "Audio Mapper" icon in your Control Panel. In this configuration dialog you can set a "default wave device", meaning the Wave driver you mentioned.
If you haven't or the Driver name is not on the list, maybe you gotta find a new hardware driver.

Bye.
