I have a Packard Bell 3.1, I have a friend that has a Packard Bell Windows 95. She has a Windows 95 CD. Can I upgrade my 3.1 using her Windows 95 CD?

If you have at least a 486 processor and a minimum of 8Mbyte of ram (16Mbyte is preferred)you should have no problem updating to windows 95. You will also need around 40Mbyte of free disk space. You should also be aware of the applicable copyright laws.

i also have a PB 486 that i upgradged to win95. first i installed as add-on with 3.1. system ran very slow. it works much better if you take the time to format and install 95 on a clean hard drive. you'll be surprised at how much faster it will run.

Win 3.1 might not let you install a full version of Windows 95, but it can be done if you go to Dos and delete the Win 3.1 win.com and any reference to Win 3.1 in your Autoexec.bat. You have to name your Win 95 folder to Win95 instead of Windows and install it from Dos. It would be better though if you deleted Win 3.1 completely, you won't need any of it.

I want to upgrade my win3.1 to 95
but I'm worryed about the drivers (sound card,modem.etc)because I dont have them ???

Windows 95 comes with drivers for most hardware out today, and the rest you can get from the product's web page, usually.

I have a laptop with 3.1. I would like to upgrade it to 95. It is a 486 with 16mbytes of ram. It does not have a cdrom. Is 95 available on floppies?

I have a small laptop.(120 32 mbytes of ram)that I use to mess around with.It has 3.1 I would like to upgrade it to 95.It does not have a cd rom,and I don't want to sink alot of money in to it because I have a fast desk top.Is there a kind of cheap version of windows 95 available on floppies
