Hi the situations this.I have a Pentium MMX 166mhz pc running win 95 OSR2.1 with FAT32. What is the best route to remove this and install win 3.11+dos 6.22? I assume i have to format the C:\ drive huh? Will i need a DOS startup disk, or will the first DOS installation disk automatically boot?

The way to remove the FAT32 partition is to start up with a DOS 6.22 bood disk and run Fdisk. after you have run Fdisk to destroy, and create a new partition an your hard drive, restart your machine with the DOS 6.22 boot up disk still in the drive. when it is running, at the command prompt type FORMAT C: this will format your hard drive in FAT16. after format is complete, remove your boot disk and insert disk 1 of your DOS disk set. now restart your machine. Installation will begin automaticly. after DOS is installed, restart your machine with out any disk in the drive. then once you are at the command prompt, insert disk 1 of 8 in your Windows 3.11 disk set, and at the command prompt, type A:\SETUP and press enter. installation of windows 3.11 will begin. complete installation, and restart your machine. once your machine is at the command prompt, type in WIN to start windows.

Wayne, Why would you want to post on a forum when you have no grammar skills at all? I mean that has got to be the world's longest run on sentence ever.
