Does anyone have a copy of Windows for PEN Computing Version 1.0. My HD 250MB died in my Compaq Concerto, so I need a copy of that operating system on Floppy please

I have Windows 3.1 on floppy, but I would like more PEN support, so I can use it for School.

I have tried URL: http://www.winworld.vze.com
but no matter what internet explorer I used, it wouldnt let me type in the box, maybe designed for linux, or for another country (I'm in Australia)

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

Cheers!!

My Itronix XC6000 used Windows for Pen Computing 1.0; an add on for Win 3.11.

I found my hdd backup but there's really nothing there for a quick and easy pen install. I'll keep looking through old cd's but I don't remember ever finding the Windows for Pen Computing 1.0 add on files.

What exactly is your Concerto Model?

4/25 model 120?
4/25 model 250?
4/33 model ???

Serial Number might help too.

hp still has some documentation and drivers available and the exact model will make searching more productive.

Most of the stuff you find for these old touchscreen laptops does concern getting the touchscreen working under linux - not much info around on win 3.x.

You need a base install of DOS/Win3.x and all the Compaq drivers and utilities installed before you worry about the pen stuff.

Another place you can look for files are Yahoo groups that concern the Concerto machines.

Over a 3 year period, I remember chasing down Itronix drivers and files for 3 different models using 3 different operating systems.

You might also want to consider that these old touchscreens didn't calibrate well and had trouble reading letters that were imperfectly written...not too good for taking notes if you're in a hurry.
