A couple questions for the experts. First, is there anyway to tell for sure(short of trying to install them)that the installation disks for 3.1 are corrupted, or damaged? Also, if not, does anyone have a list of the files that are supposed to be on each disk? I would love to get windows 3.1 working, more for nostalgia sake, and tinkering than anything else. You can also use "chkdsk", as in "chkdsk a:" from a DOS prompt. If you have the Windows 3.1 installation diskettes, why do you need to know which files belong on each disk?

The reason I posted my original message is, I bought a set of Windows 3.1 disks on Ebay. They were sealed, but who knows how or where they were kept all these yrs. Anyway, I figured I would copy them onto new disks as soon as I got them. When I put them in the floppy drive, and used the copy feature you get when you right click it, the first 2 disks copied fine. The 3rd and 4th got part way, and told me the disk was damaged, or had errors, or a file was in use. So, in order to copy those disks, I just selected all the files, and copied them to my hard drive, then to a new floppy. I have not tried to install them yet. Something just seemed wrong about what happened. I did run scandisk on them, and they check out fine. All 6 of them. That is why I asked for a list of files on each disk, so I could make sure I was getting them all. Even the size of the used part on each disk would be a help. I just would hate to try to install them if something was wrong right from the start. It doesn't help that I am not too familiar with Windows 3.1 either, so any help I can get is appreciated.
