does anyoen know what version of dos was required to run windows 1
The system requirements for Windows 1.0 constituted MS-DOS 2.0, 256 KB RAM, and 2 double-sided disk drives or a hard drive.

I've ran windows 1.1 on dos 6.22 just fine. Possibly it was 1.2,3 or 4 tho but they do work on that but MSDOS 3.3 is about the time of Windows 1.x comming out so DOS3.3 and up I guess.

I've used it fine on MS-DOS 3.30, so anything earlier should work fine.
Summary: Windows 3.0 is really only of use on a older 286 or early 386 with 1MB or less of RAM. It only runs in STANDARD MODE so will not run many of the later Windows 3.1 programs. On its own with Write, Note...
