Well for few days when i work in windows 3.x it shows me an error when i click on the msdos icon or any dos application saying that a required dll file is missing or corrupt

Hi HARRY:
First try exit Windows to DOS & see if you can launch DOS programs from c:\dosshell (File Manager in DOS). If programs work then you might have a missing or bad file in Windows, try c:\scandisk, c:\defrag in DOS first to see if scandisk can fix a bad file. If not then do a re-install of Win 3.1 to add the missing file back, or if you made a backup to floppy disks then find the dll file there, if Windows tells you the file name on screen. If programs don't work in DOS, then you have a file bad there.Good luck.

Probably a stupid question does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of windows 3.1 if any one can advise me it would be greatly appriciated

AllanB, simply go to www.valiant-it.co.uk
You will need dos 6.22 if you are installing from scratch
Ps DON'T PUT THE FILES YOU DOWNLOADED ONTO FLOPPY. INSTEAD DOWNLOAD THEM ONTO YOUR HARDDISK, INSERT A BLANK FLOPPY DISK INTO YOUR FLOPPY DRIVE AND RUN THE FILE. PUT ONLY ONE FILE ONTO ONE DISK. THE WINDOWS 3.1 OR 3.11 FILES ARE ZIPPED AND SO NEED "WINZIP" WWW.WINZIP.COM TO BE UNCOMPRESSED. IF THE COMPUTER YOU ARE RUNNING HAS WIN95 OR ABOVE YOU WILL NEED TO CREATE A STARTUP DISK. email me for further details.
