Comment: I need to find out if it is possable to install the modem driver for a us robotics v.92 56k fax modem it seems that the setup program only works for win2k and xp. I have been to the us robotics site already and they gave me no answer although they do have dosmdm.exe but I could not get it to work. or find a modem that works with win311 or dos if you know ware I can get one any info will be greatly appreciated

Reply: (edit)If it's a WinModem, then likely no. Few (if any) manufacturers supported Win3.x with 56K modems. If you're going to use a modem with Win3.x, your best bet is to use a standard external, or a "jumperable" internal (i.e.-hardware modems)

Reply: (edit)If you look around enough and get a pretty good deal, an internal 33.6K modem can be found for around $5-$6. An external for around $10. Most businesses on the net require a credit card, though some might do a C.O.D. order (expect to pay more).
