Reply: (edit)Hi Dale: I would be very careful trying to dual boot a Windows ME system. Since this this is a new OS, then I would think that most of the utilites for multi OS setup was designed for Win 98 & earlier. Before trying this, I would do a complete backup of you current hard drive just to make sure, if system crashes, & you need to format drive. Since I just use Win 3.1 (Tried Win 95), I am guessing that you need to install these multi OS utilities through DOS, & not in Windows to work, but again be careful to make sure that these programs were designed for ME. Remember that if you do get Win 3.11 to work, then you will have problems with drivers for your new sound, video, & other cards that were not designed for Win 3.11, so keep this in mind. Old devices can work on new OS's, but newer devices usually don't work on older OS's. Good luck. Z Good luck. Z

Reply: (edit)If you have FAT32 installed you cannot use Windows 3.1. Plus since Windows Me has no 'Real Mode' MS-DOS and 3.1 runs on it you will find that a problem as well!

Reply: (edit)WinME probably won't work in a dual boot with Win3.1, cos, as sed above, WinMe no longer uses Real Mode MS-DOS, which is required by WIndows 3.x...

Reply: (edit)You need to partition your harddrive one of them has to be FAT16 and the other FAT32, you need to have a DOS 6.22 boot disk, install 3.11 first and then ME. Windows 3.11 will only start from DOS, and won't work with in windows

Reply: (edit)I found that having them both on a LS-120 disk didn't work, the LS-120 disk format wasn't recognized. I had to download a DOS6.22 bootdisk on a 1.44 floppy that includes a CD-ROM driver, WIN 3.11 is on a Zip250 disk. The CD-ROM driver is required for the Zip250 to work. Boot Sequence is to boot to LS-120 with DOS 6.22 boot disk on 1.44 floppy, DOS starts up, runs MSCDEX CD-ROM driver, detects CD-ROM and Iomega Zip250 drive. Although this way, I can access my hard drive, because the Zip drive makes itself look like the C:\ drive.
