There are no Windows 3.1 boot disks, only DOS boot disks. Yoou need to determine what version of DOS you have installed on your computer. If you are not sure, it is probly DOS 6.22, DOS 6.21, or DOS 6.20. What is the manufacturers date of the machine? If it is March of 1994, you will need a MS DOS 6.21 boot disk. If it is later than that, you will need a MS DOS 6.22 boot disk. However, if by chance you have MS DOS 4.00 or earlier, (unlikely), you will need to go to boodisk.com to download your boot disk. I only have boot disks for MS DOS 5.00-Windows ME (MS DOS 8.00)

Touse the boot disk, insert the boot disk in your machine and start it. Next, after the machine finishes booting, and you are at the command prompt, type in SYS C: to transfer the system files to your hard drive. After this is done, remove the boot disk from the machine, and restart. YOur computer should now boot normally.

I need the same thing as everyone above. Will someone please send me the files needed to make a dos boot disk. I have all the installation disk for 3.1 but it says the boot disk i used is not compatible with 3.1 - then it goes on to say it can't find the system files or command files on a drive. HELP!

Thanks
