Comment: Will a USR Win Modem driver for Win 95 work on OS Win 3.1 ? I have a USR Sportster 33.6 and the only driver I can find is for Windows 95.

Reply: (edit)I dont think so.... but I could be wrong... my experience is that you dont need a driver at all for modems to work in 3.1 anyways... try search for it on this site, www.windrivers.com, and www.driversguide.com

Reply: (edit)Sorry Windows 95 Modem Drivers will not work with Windows 3.1 However as Jeff says, you should not need one, as modem are recognised in a differant way with 3.1 Try the US Robotics link at windrivers.com or above links for more info. Also try www.winfiles.com

Reply: (edit)I have an usr Sport.modem and to work on win 95 I have to change the jumpers to com 4/irq3
but on win3.11 i use the standard com/irq
hope this help,my friend and I spent about 30 hours going thro all the ports,etc to get it working
