You will need to know specs of your pc..

386? /??

..does not convey much apart from it is probably more suited to DOS Gaming:

Processor Intel 486SX2/50MHz
Memory Four MB of RAM standard, upgradable to 56MB
Hard Drive 340MB

If it really is a Presario 650 then it'll be adequate to run Win95, although you need to increase the amount of RAM beyond the stock 4Mb, as that is barely enough to run Windows at all (let alone well). The hard drive could be larger, although a 486 will be limited to somewhere between 540Mb - 2Gb (depending) without the use of overlay software or a controller card

Clean installs tend to go better

Yeah, we ran DEC [Tandy] 386DX33, no 387, and 4MB ram.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

We'd already found the (original) specs, but good of you to try.

12612224 bytes would indicate a 12Mb drive, which isn't too likely - perhaps that's the amount of free space.

The amount of installed memory would be the deciding factor - try the mem command

Minimum requirements for Win95 can be easily found - higher specs will naturally run better

If you plan to undertake a full install of W95 it is best to start afresh and format the drive beforehand:

And if you have an upgrade CD, you will need the Win 3.1 disk(s)for proof of ownership.
