i need help in checking the ipaddress in windows 3.1 mode. it seems to me there is no way to check it...

Just for clarity are we talking about W3.x or W3.x WfW and what version of IE/Netscape etc are you using ?

This is not running in an emulator as you state W2K as your Operating System ? if so it is a W2K question.

W3.x is actually a GUI on top of MSDOS and MSDOS tools are usually required for TCP/IP interagation....

this com just have win3.1 no other OS. and no wfw...

need to know the command to check the ip address..............

Win 3.1 has no suppurt for TCP/IP protocol, but there is an upgrade diskette available to add support for TCP/IP to Windows for Workgroups only.
Try to get a "Workgroups" Version with network support and write me an email if you are interested in the diskette.
This disk also contains tools for checking IP Adress etc.
