if u tried to install it before then check to see if any win files are still present and delete them. if this doesnt work then reformat and start with a fresh disk. gdi.exe handles the graphics so u cannot put another version on until the current one id gone

I get the 214 msg during 3.1 setup also. It says it cannot open or create the file vgalogo.lgo
I tried formatting C: like the guy told you to do and it did not help
If you find out how to handle this please let me know and I will do the same for you.
