Besides ungrading the BIOS, is there anything else that should be done to upgrade a Windows 3.11 machine to year 2000? Does the OS need any service packs?

There is a Y2K upgrade for both Win 3.1 and Win 3.11 available from www.microsoft.com.
However, Microsoft seems to have done their best at hiding the files. They are much easier to find on the homepage of;
www.bootdisk.com
Installing the Y2K update for 3.11 seems to take care of most of the Y2K issues, I upgraded to internet explorer 5 for Win 3.1/3.11 because the old internet email program for IE 3.03 couldn't fully handle the new dates.

I haven't done a thing to my old 486 machine and I haven't had any Y2K problems at all. I didn't do anything for my AMD k2-6 350 machine running Win98 either.
