Would anyone know where in the Northeast I can gain access to Win 3.1 Restore or Boot disks in 5.25"? My youngest neice inadvertently reformatted my mom's older 486 and I can't seem to acces DOS in order to have it load from B drive (the 3.5") instead of A (the 5.25"). I'll need whatever quantity there was to restore Win 3.1.
I do however get a prompt that says "Drive not ready error - insert boot diskette in drive A and press any key to continue", but I don't have a boot diskette in 5.25" floppy, so if anyone would be willing to assist (even just by allowing me to borrow temporarily), I'd be apprciative.

I can tell you how to make your B:drive the A:drive..if that will help?

Open the computer case....look at both floppy drives..should be one ribbon cable there..the drive on the end of the cable will be the A: drive...the one attached to the center will be the B: drive...swap the connections...then turn on your system and enter the bios..Usually says "press DEL to enter setup" or some such thing..depends on the bios motherboard book will have that info...in setup select the drive,in your case 3.5" for the A:drive... That's it!

Thanks for the suggestion, Chip - I did that and at least got the puter to where I can get the "c:" prompt, but I still need some sort of boot diskette(s) and Win 3.1 restore diskettes - the system's only got a 128MB HDD (I don't really know how much RAMit's got - all of the available card slots are filled)
