What the heck is a build disk ???? I'm installing win 2.1 because of low memory and it's the only one I have on floppy no cd rom drive only the old reliable asks to insert a build disk I've no idea what this is I thought maybe I had to insert disk # 2 but that's not it either ....Stumped again....... Oh'well someone out there should know what's happening here as I don't all signs look as if everythings working till I get to this spot in the install and then it hangs up open for comments............ I wait on here till someone reads this ........thanks

I missed out explaining the procedure I encounterd I took out the 40 mg and the only one I had kicking around not doing anything was a 540mg much too large for this as it was setup for Win 98 I had to Fdisk it and Format it in my own computer to get rid off the Fat 32bit and set it at 16 bit and large disk I was also able to bring it down to 220mg to the largest size this thing will handle Oh'well take it from there ....I don't know what else to do..........

I have MS windows 2 on 5.25 inch floppy disk which is an 8 disk set - the disks are labelled as follows:
Disk 1, Setup Disk
Disk 2, Build Disk
Disk 3, Display
Disk 4, Utilities 1
Disk 5, Utilities 2
Disk 6, Fonts 1
Disk 7, Fonts 2
Disk 8, Desktop ApplicationsAs Hmmm says, this version of Windows is not particularly functional - more of a file manager for DOS. I doubt you would find many apps to run under it. I have it running on an old 286 desktop with a very early version of MS Word for Windows and a DOS version of MS Works. Ah...nostalgia!

Thanks Jez .....You just answered my question on what's a ...build disk I must have screwed that one up when I downloaded it Oh'Well I'll try it again and see what happens .......Thanks much appreciated...
