Hey Guys im continuing a thread i saw earlier about who haws the best 486 and windows 3.11. Mine has Win95A, but i really want to show it off to some peeps :P
I found mine at a Value village. It's A Compaq ProLinea 4/25s. Not actutally sure of clock speed but its between 33 and 50 mhz (acording to jumpers) It orginally had a 128mb hd NO RAM 0.o and no expansions. I bosted it up to 16 mb and discovered the HD had win 3.11 on it. i coppied it over to a larger 1.2 gig i installed. after that unplugged the 128mb hd and hooked up a 48x ATAPI CD ROM drive in its place and also stuck in a 10mps NIC card, a ATI Mach 64 2mb ISA card, and a sound blaster (unsure of model, but it has a Atapi CD ROM Header) to avoid screwwing around with the dos drivers, i installed windows 95A to the larger HD and got my sound blaster etc. all working. after that i hooked up the cd rom to the sound blaster and put the 128 mb hd back on the IDE header and now use it for virtual memory (btw i only have a primary IDE header, no secondary :'( Everything was auto detected and installed like a dream. after that i also installed IE 5.5 and MSN Messenger 5.0, along with Windows Media player 6.4. Internet and MSN works awsome, but media player is only able to play WAV, MIDI and Music cds at full speed. (can't play MP3 or WMA :P not gonna even bother with videos hehe
so the specs are
486DX2 33\50 mhz (ya i know i should know but i dont :\
with future expasion for an overdrive CPU(Someday)
Windows 95A (ya this is 3.1, but i wanted to post it here anyway :P

(all expansion cards are ISA)
Novell/anthem 10MBPS NIC

oh and btw im on it right now and posted this message from it :P

wow, kool, that's awesome! I used to have a 486.... man that was a good computer too. yeah I managed to bump the RAM in it all the way up to 64MB. I had 4 16MB 72 pin SIMMS in her and she flew. When I had Windows 3.1 on it, it was crazy fast. It took a Windows 95A upgrade without any problems. Yeah, that was a good machine. Those 486s are older but are by no means out of use. I think I even had mine running Deer Avenger 2. It was awesome

I had one also...it was an HP Vectra 2V or V2 or whatever it's called, and it had 16 MB RAM, a 1 GB hard drive, an Intel OverDrive 66 MHz "extra" processor, and I think 1 MB video and only system speaker sound... XD
It had DOS7/Win3.1 and NT4 dual boot...
It broke after a time after I bought it tho... :(http://www.boredsource.com/eltrucha/
