I don't know if they have them in the uk but here in the us there are garage, yard, rummage sales where people sell things at there homes and sometimes business's.

I recently got two good Dell Pentium 133Mhz laptops for $50 each. They had cd rom's network cards, 40 mb ram each and 1.4 gig hd's power supply/chargers carying cases extra battery and one even had a 4 port hub tucked away. Even better they both had 98se and office 97.

Not all that comman in the UK Chad!

Because of stupid European Safety Laws, Second Hand Shops or Charity Shops (Thrift Stores) have to supply an Elictrical Safety Certificate with second user electrical goods. Becouse this is an added cost, many do not bother to sell them.

Computer Shops and Fairs who have techs to do the testing are the only viable options over here.

Like many regulations however you do get the odd few shops that ignore it anyway!

That sucks I guess we all got our stupid laws no matter where were from though.

I suppose the same thing would apply if he tried to find one on ebay huh.

Or not entirely cheap but http://www.retrobox.com/rbwww/home/

No private sales are not covered by Euro Saftey Laws

There is a Magazine called 'Micro Mart' available in the UK which also lists cheap laptops and computers.

Had a look at Retro Box. I would think the shipping from USA to UK would be a Killer.

Here are a few UK Second User Dealers:

Just type

Second Hand Laptops in UK (Or something like that) in Google to find more
