I'm looking for win 3.11 where can I get it?
It's important that it is not the workgroup version because I have a 80286 so that the workgroup version will not work.

Since you are using a 286 PC you should use DOS 6.22 & Win 3.1 & not try any higher version. In case you didn't receive my e-mail, you can get these downloads on the web. Go to listing on Computing.net under New Download site (I believe) from Happy Helper, where he list the link inside. Make sure you have at least 8 megs or ram, 16 would be better, & hope you have a big enough hard drive. You should have at least a 125 meg HD for just DOS, Win 3.1 & Browser with plug-in software to work. If not you're just wasting your time tring to make this PC work. One last thing is that the video card might only get 16 colors in VGA (480x640), the net wants 65k colors in SVGA (640x800), so know what you're getting into.

You need to use Windows 3.0. I had Windows 3.1 on my 286 and it functions horribly. Very slow and depressing. 3.0 functions a lot better on a 286.

BUT Windows 3.0 has little or no software support, AND on the net SUCKS

Win 3.1 sucks on the net on a 286. HAVE YOU TRIED IT? Trust me, I have tried it all using all browsers. He might could use some kind of dos internet & see how that goes. When you click on a link using Win 3.1 when your on the internet using a 286, it took at least 2 minutes or so for the page to come up. He did not say he needed it for the internet anyway. It's kind of a win loose situation. If you havent tried it, which you obviously havent or you would know the results, you cannot give people correct information.

I have an old 286 PC with EGA graphics and not very much room on it. I had dos 6.22 but a lot of that was deleted as i didn't need most of it. I have win 3.1 but most of that was deleted too. Only get a good version if you have enough room. Mine has hardly any room so i only use it for games. Only reason i have windows on is for a shortcut to games for when my sisters play them, they don't kno the dos commandes. I have over 400 old dos games. very slow with win 3.1 on though!!!

I have win3.0,3.1 & NDTW 1.0 & 2.0
Run win 3.1 & Norton Desktop 2.0 on 80286 in standard mode VGA graphics.
Not for internet but fine for all others
Don't find it particularly slow..
