ok right now i'm running my computer of a windows 95 boot disk i downloaded from bootdisk.com i'm interested in getting a copy of windows 95, is there a copy i can install from dos like windows 3.1 or will i have to install windows 3.1 i have a 1 gb hard drive that i'm trying to format correctly see post "will hard drive work" and how much (us dollars) can i expect to pay?
theres two types of win95, an upgrade , that does require win31, and a full install, that doesnt require either win31 or even dos- just your bootdisk (if your win95 is on CD). As for how much to pay , is a fiver too much? You shouldnt have any trouble finding ridiculously cheap copies in thrift stores these days, and even computer shops likely would have it for maybe ten bucks- 95 b might be a couple bucks more, but all in all- i bought a box with w95 upgrade and WfWgroups upgrade, and dos 6.2 (26 or so floppies altogether) for 10 bucks for the lot from my local computer shop, last year- thats canadian money too, which is worth a lot less than your US currency... got 95b on CD for 5 bucks,as well, and if you can find the cds your better off as floppies do die all too easily... im not a fan of E-Bay, and i personally wouldn't use it except as a last resort, but i suppose you could find it cheap there too..
email me. I got all versions of 95 (fe,a,b,cd,c) laying around I could sell you cheap! hows about 10 bucks for cd. and its only about $2.00 priority mail. but the floppy versions are on a cd (images) and a flood ruined the floppies.
i got it! i installed win 95 on my computer and can finally use my modem however its way too slow took 10 minutes to display the smallest webpage i could think of
