I recently reformatted my hard drive, wanting to reinstall wfw311. I used to boot disk to boot back into my ssystem to install DOS, but I ran into problems with that. The program keeps asking me to "Insert Setup Disk 1," even though it is in the drive already. So I went straight to installing windows, but it's reading my autoexec and config files strictly from the floppy. How can I get my computer to boot off my hard drive? I don't know how to get into the boot menu for this computer (HP Omnibook 600c)...

To clarify things, I used a boot disk to boot back in. Then I tried installing DOS (I tried 3.3, 5, and 6.22). With all three versions I ran into the same "Insert Setup Disk 1" problem...

You need to boot from the first of the three DOS 6.22 setup disks.

I ran into the same problem. I downloaded a copy of DOS 6.22 of the internet. You have to label them DISK (then 6 spaces) 1. Same for 2, 3, and 4. You HAVE to have the 6 spaces. If you have the original copies or download .IMZ copies, you should be able to boot your computer from DOS DISK 1.
