when on aol message of no buddie list available, then error message, when signing off computer shuts down and I get waol.exe message, yesterday my son tried to install a nascar 95 in my computer which is 98 windows it would not accept it, could my problem be from this?

I do not have a clue what 'waol.exe is all about.I do know that I am unable to get my html pages unto my browser as waol.exe:cannot be found and apparently it is required to show my pages.I would appreciate any HELP from anyone.thanks.
