in order to backup my computer, I need to
have this my windows system directory.
I cannot find it. The company wants me to
upgrade. I do not have the money to do
that. Where can I download it from.

what this usually means is that in your system,ini file, under the enhanced section you need to add the line
C:\DOS\VFINTD.386
save and restart windows. I am ussuming you are using version 6.X of dos
