I actually learned to type using the following 16-bit Typing Tutor:

KP Typing Tutor for DOS v 4.11

the program will run in Windows 3.x...

A standard typing manual from the public library will work too.

Two hours practice every day for two weeks, and by the due date, I had gone from hunt-and-peck to proper touch-typing.

Download the windows version. It says 30 day evaluation. But mine continues to still work after a year. Only gives you a nag screen when you exit. Not so bad. The EGA & VGA dos versions are excellent also. Have them running on my dos pc's.
