trying to install wfw 3.11 but wont work

it says itwont start the application when i try in windows and when i try through dos it says bad exe file what should i do?
install it again, perhaps something went wrong. Is the bad *.exe file win.com?

Have to admit this is a strange request, upgrade from 3.11 to 3.11 for workgroups? Will it make that much of a difference?

I have tried installing windows 3.1 on a packard bell computer. I have boot disk but what is the dos command to install windows 3.1 back on the computer. I have formatted the harddrive.

at the DOS prompt type "SETUP>EXE" (minuesz the qoutes), this will start Win3.1 setup

oops, that should read "SETUP.EXE" (minus the qoutes)
