when i try to install it says it cannot create folder on C:\ . i recently formatted my harddrive. What do i need to do to my hardrive to fix this

did you install dos first, if not you need to install ms dos 6.22

i used the 6.22 bootdisk is tat fine or do i need o install 6.22

you nee to install dos there are three disk. boot up with the number one setup disk look on this site to find where you can get a free copy of dos 6.22

Unless you use dos you can just sys c: which copies dos system files to the harddrive and make it bootable.
You should be able to install win3.1 from then on.

win 3.11 is not an OS mark therefor you need to install dos first!

absolutly right. Windows 3.11 is merely a program that runs on top of and interacts with the DOS OS. No DOS=No Work
